My Culinary Journey

Updated: Sep 28, 2022

My relationship with food goes back as far as I can remember but my new profound appreciation and passion for the culinary arts has transpired more recently.

My culinary journey begins about a year ago. Going back to school was no easy venture to take on. It was scary and intimidating at times, I have my girls, a business to run and and a relationship to maintain. I knew I had the support of my family and that kept me motivated and propelled me to push forward and finish, finish with high marks and leave with a broader respect for the food I cook and connections in the culinary world.

I can honestly say that going back to school was the best decision I've made in my life and to pursue my dream of becoming and executive chef in international cuisine.

It was no easy journey, with physical injuries setting me back, it took an emotional toll on me and began to think there is a greater power at work. I had to learn that sometimes in life these set backs are put in our path for a reason and it is our job to search and reflect because God has something better down the road.

I had met a chef who has impacted my professional and personal life in such a positive light. He has inspired me and given me the confidence to seek out opportunities that I had never considered, bigger than what I had envisioned for myself. The path you lay out for yourself, may not necessarily be the path you take, but keep in mind the outcomes of the path you take are direct results of your hard work and determination or sometimes lack thereof.

I am a firm believer in not only fabricating chicken but also fabricating the life that you want. There is a board I wake up to everyday that allows me to plan out an itinerary for my day and I commit to ensuring my physical tasks are complete but I also make sure to complete my mental tasks as well, like reinforcing my motivations and inspirations. Never forget to also find time to work on yourself physically and mentally. My Faith is now stronger than ever and believe God's work is in full motion.

I am so proud of how far I have come in my education and my accomplishments, so proud to be able to say that everything is possible when you put in the effort and work hard. I'm committed to continuing to improve myself in all aspects in life. Who knows what the future holds but I am more confident in my goals and I have no doubt that my dreams will be reached and I am looking forward to sharing that with all my supporters. This is only the beginning of my journey, thank you for joining me in this part of my culinary journey. I am fabricating the life I want to live.

Empowering Tip:

Never settle, you are capable of something great and there is no limit to what can be achieved. Put in the hard work, time, dedication, and you'll see results. Seek out those opportunities that you had believed could never be achieved. Find what motivates you and commit to achieving your goals, don't let yourself give-up because of a few bumps along the way.
